CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Adas, your stories matter! Nearly fifty years ago, the groundbreaking Ada Comstock Scholars (ACS) program ignited a spark in women that even the founders of the program didn’t anticipate– a spark that could not be extinguished once activated. As Patricia Skarda said in her introduction to Textured Lives, “there is no typical Ada Comstock Scholar.” The common denominators that unite us all are a passion for learning and a life of the mind, made possible by resilience, grit, and determination. We invite you to share your unique story for our 50th anniversary anthology. This is your opportunity to contribute your story to an anthology that celebrates the power of the human spirit and the transformative impact of the Ada Comstock Scholars program. What We’re Looking For: We are seeking personal essays that capture the essence of your ACS journey. Let this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt inspire you: “I could not at any age be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on.” Submission Guidelines: Word count: 600-3000 words Deadline: November 6, 2024 Register here: Please fill out the Google form, linked below, to register your intention to submit an essay. We’ll use your information to send updates and reminders, and to keep you updated as we move from submissions to publication!
